Edward (Ted) Thompson, FNP-C, is a certified family nurse practitioner here at Sunshine Medical Centers. He brings with him over eleven years of diverse experience in the field of nursing. He began his nursing career as a RN in a local hospital stroke/neuro unit. He later became Director of Nursing for a DIDD provider in Knoxville Tennessee where he managed the care of over fifty individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2020, Ted began practicing at a family medical center where he served a wide variety of patients as a primary care provider. His mission is to promote wellness and the overall health of his patients by providing compassionate, high-quality care. Ted earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Tennessee Wesleyan University and his Master of Science in Nursing at Lincoln Memorial University. Ted has called East Tennessee home for more than forty years. He has two children with his wife of over twenty years. They enjoy rooting for the Vols, fishing, camping, and spending time with friends, family, and their two dogs.
