Hypersensitivity Testing And Treatment

Holistic Integrative Medical Approach to Hypersensitivity Testing and Treatment

Hypersensitivities are an exaggerated reaction of the immune system to a substance that would not normally cause a reaction in most individuals. The immune system perceives a particular substance (chemicals, dust, mold, pollen, foods, etc.) as a threat and triggers the release of histamine, causing an allergic symptom. Classic allergy symptoms are sneezes, runny nose, hives, itchy and watery eyes and itchy throat but, in fact, allergies may cause a vast range of symptoms from fatigue and depression to constipation, joint pain, facial swelling, headaches and chronic sinusitis. Hypersensitivities put stress on the immune system and can affect every major system of the body.

Hypersensitivities affect both the immune system and the autonomic nervous system. Sunshine Medical Centers’s hypersensitivity testing and treatment strategy addresses both the immune system response and the autonomic nervous system response to the allergen. With homeopathic solutions, patients gradually become less sensitized to the allergen and then become desensitized over time and decreased exposure. Homeopathic solutions when combined with Hypersensitivity Elimination Technique can provide significant relief from allergy type symptoms.

Our Approach to Painless, Needle Free Hypersensitivity Testing

Muscle Testing - Also known as Applied Kinesiology (AK), muscle testing is used to find muscle weaknesses that are linked to problems with the body. Muscle Testing is a method of interfacing with the body. Imagine your body as a Bio-Computer. When the body is under stress, it makes errors in judgement and codes things as Hypersensitivities. Applied kinesiology practioners test the strength of a muscle by pressing against it, and may also introduce a stimulus such as a food, chemical, pollen, pet hair, etc. to test the response of the muscle. The stimulus essentially interacts with the body's energy field and he responds by strengthening or weakening the muscle being tested.

Zyto Bioscan Screening - A Zyto Bioscan is another tool we use for hypersensitivity screening. A scan is similar to a muscle test in that a stimulus is introduced to the body and the body responds. With a Zyto scan, however, thousands of digital signatures representing actual items can be introduced to the body in a matter of minutes. A scan can not only show whether the body has a "yes" or "no" response to each digital signature, but also show numerically how significant that response was.

Homeopathy - Homeopathic remedy stimulates the body's own defense system to cope with exposure to allergens, rather than suppressing the allergic symptoms like antihistamines or steroids. Often, treatment doesn't have to be taken continually - for example, a homeopathic remedy taken before the start of the hay fever season can protect the patient through the whole season, reducing the need for antihistamines.

FIT (Food Inflammatory Test) Blood Test - A finger stick kit provides a quick and easy way to collect a sample. This test utilizes new technology (measuring IgG and Immune complexes) and offers the most sensitive test in the market. This test measures 132 foods and additives across all major food groups.

Additional Assistance for the Allergy and/or Multiple Chemical Sensitive Patient

The integrative, holistic approach to allergy treatment is usually sufficient, but sometimes there may be an underlying disturbance contributing to the body’s tendency to overreact. We seek to also identify these root causes of allergy by looking further at possible sources of toxicity. We are able to test for and treat these issues which may contribute to allergies or sensitivities.

Possible Sources of Disturbance:

  • Bowel, Digestive system (leaky gut, poor digestion, parasites)
  • Chemicals in Personal Care Products, Water, or Environment
  • Chronic Infections
  • Dental Issues (root canals, infection, mercury fillings)
  • Diet (food allergies and/or food sensitivities or intolerances)
  • Heavy Metals (smoking, exposure)
  • Molds
  • Noxious energies (electromagnetic frequencies)
  • Work and Home Environment (air quality, mold, chemicals, electromagnetic frequencies etc)

Dietary modifications may be helpful for food sensitivities. Keeping track of what you eat with a diet diary, then using a rotation diet or an elimination diet will help manage symptoms and treatment.

Detoxification may be suggested as part of your allergy treatment if toxicity is found. Detoxification and rehabilitation of the bowel is essential to all healing as it restores balance in the gastrointestinal system. The gastrointestinal system, "the gut" is our first line of defense in our immune system. Read The 4 R's of Healthy Digestion for more information.
